Panel scheduling is not private-sector scheduling

Three panel members, simultaneously available. That’s the minimum.

Private sector scheduling tools are typically designed for one-on-one or small-group interviews. Government selection processes routinely involve a three-person panel, a separate HR coordinator, and sometimes an observer or scribe, all needing to be available simultaneously.

Panel scheduling features to look for: simultaneous availability checking across multiple panel members, panel member notification of confirmed bookings, the ability to block slots when any panel member is unavailable, and integration with Government calendar systems (Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace).

A tool that only checks one person’s availability creates false bookings and rescheduling loops. A tool that checks the full panel creates confirmed bookings.

Test any scheduling tool with a real panel scenario before procurement, three people plus coordinator, not a one-on-one demo.
