The documents you need to defend a challenged hire
Seven document types. All of them matter.
When a recruitment decision is challenged, the Agency must be able to produce a specific set of documents: the advertised position description, conflict of interest declarations for every panel member, the interview questions asked of all candidates, the candidate responses or notes, the assessment rationale against each work-related quality, the selection report with comparative reasoning, and the panel deliberation record.
Each serves a distinct purpose. The position description establishes what was assessed. The conflict declarations demonstrate impartiality. The questions demonstrate consistency. The responses and notes provide the evidence base. The rationale shows reasoning. The selection report connects it all. The deliberation record captures how the panel reached consensus.
A process missing any one of these has a visible gap on review.
