The selection report is the evidence. Write it that way.
If it’s not in the report, it didn’t happen.
Under the MPC’s new promotion review model, effective 1 April 2025, the selection report is a central piece of evidence. The MPC reviews the job description, advertisement, panel composition, conflict declarations, interview questions, assessment tasks, and the selection report itself.
If your report records conclusions without reasoning, the process looks undefended, even if the process was sound. A defensible report shows: the qualities assessed, the evidence gathered against each, the comparative analysis between candidates, and the reasoning that led to the recommendation.
“Candidate A was the strongest” is not a selection report. It is a headline. The report must show the working.
