Supply Nation: the verification step

Self-declared Indigenous ownership isn’t enough. Check the register.

For IPP purposes, an Indigenous enterprise is defined as a business at least 50% owned by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. The most reliable way to verify Indigenous enterprise status is through Supply Nation registration.

Supply Nation is a not-for-profit that certifies Indigenous businesses and maintains a register used by Government procurement teams. Checking the register provides independent verification, documented evidence for the procurement record, and access to a searchable pool of Indigenous suppliers across categories.

Self-declared Indigenous ownership is not sufficient for IPP compliance evidence. The Supply Nation check is the step that makes the IPP action defensible.

Check the Supply Nation register before finalising any technology procurement above $10,000. Document the check in the procurement record.
